perform has proved himself an officer of a high standard of
integrity, ability and energy. Captain Reidy is his
subordinate; and the Veterinary Director-General's decision
which amounts in effect to regrading the officers of another
Government can only occasion surprise.
I am therefore to request that you will be
so good as to take such action as may be necessary to remove
an entirely unjustified imputation on the name of a very
conscientious official.
